Phish or Legit?

Twelve texts, emails and messages just landed on your phone. Some are real. Some are scams. Stamp each one, then see the clues you can use next time.

  1. Read the message the way you would on your phone.
  2. Tap Phish if it's a scam or Legit if it's safe. On a phone you can also swipe left for Phish and right for Legit.
  3. The red flags light up in yellow, with what to do if you ever get one like it.

About 5 minutes. No timer, no sign-up. Every company and person in this game is made up.

Got a message like this for real?
  • Didn't click yet? Delete it. Forward scam texts to 7726 (SPAM) first so your carrier can block the sender.
  • Clicked or typed a password? Change that password right away from the real app or website, and turn on two-step sign-in.
  • Gave card or bank details? Call the number on the back of your card now and ask them to block it.
  • Lost money or personal information? Report it at ReportFraud.ftc.gov and ic3.gov. For identity theft, use IdentityTheft.gov for a recovery plan.
  • 60 or older, or helping someone who is? Call the National Elder Fraud Hotline at 1-833-372-8311 or AARP's Fraud Watch Helpline at 1-877-908-3360.

Being fooled is not your fault. Scammers do this for a living, and reporting it helps stop the next one.
