Firewall Defense

The Rivera family's home network is under attack. Phishing emails, password guessers, malware and ransomware are racing down the wires toward their laptops and phones. Build the right defense for each threat and keep their data safe for six waves.

Tip: each defense is strong against one kind of attack and weak against the rest, just like in real life. You'll need a mix. Every person and attack in this game is made up.

Think your real accounts or devices were attacked?
  • Clicked a phishing link or typed a password? Change that password from the real app or website and turn on two-step sign-in (MFA).
  • Got a "new sign-in" alert you didn't make? Sign out of all devices from your account settings, change the password, and check your recovery email and phone number.
  • A ransom message on your screen? Disconnect from Wi-Fi, don't pay, and restore from a backup. Report it at ic3.gov.
  • Lost money or personal information? Report it at ReportFraud.ftc.gov, and use IdentityTheft.gov for a recovery plan.
  • Under 18? Tell a parent, teacher or another adult you trust. You won't be in trouble for asking for help.
